I’ve been working quite a lot on my project called Phaseball, which is a baseball simulation program based on W. M. Akers’s Deadball. The texts aren’t too colorful but this is just an example log of a game I simulated. I’m planning to handle the game reports/logs in a similar way but also want to figure out a way to create a graphical representation and play-by-play options. Anyway, this is a Sprint Training game I simulated for my Baseball Association of Irish Labour Unions fantasy league....

It’s been a while since the last time I went to a gig so I wasn’t very keen on traveling to Dublin but at the same time I didn’t want to miss Days ‘N’ Daze again. Some background information: This gig was scheduled for 8 September last year but it was postponed. We were supposed to go with my fiancé and I was really looking forward to the original date and was very disappointed when it got pushed to this year....

I’m not sure how many people who know me know I love baseball. Probably a few as I don’t hide it or anything, I’m just aware of the lack of interest so I rarely bring it up. Anyway, one of the games I’ve been playing quite a while is Out of the Park Baseball. I’ve never played enough to be good at it or to even scratch the surface of understanding but this year I decided I’ll dive right into it and so here we are....

Wowee, this was a busy weekend and some. I reinstalled my dedicated server with no backups, set out to do everything the right way - or as close to it as possible. As I mentioned in my last post, I fucked up my Mastodon instance pretty badly. Due to this and my inability to fix it I got really frustrated and the next day I decided to just roll with the punches and reinstall the whole server....

When I first heard of Mastodon I got really excited. I always hated how Twitter is just there, they don’t really give a wank about racists and bigots openly spewing hate on their platform and now that dickhead Elon Musk bought it so for me that was the proverbial final nail. While I don’t intend to delete my account (the only reason is we’ve basically started talking there with the love of my life) I will stop using the platform for good....
